New clues for diet difficulty
New research on a hormone that triggers hunger may help explain why it’s so difficult for dieters to keep weight off and why many patients who have gastric bypass surgery are successful at losing pounds.
The findings could lead to the development of weight-loss drugs that block this hunger hormone, which is secreted by the stomach and part of the small intestine.
